Location: Camp Wombaroo, High Range, New South Wales.
Objective: To help protect 3 buildings including main office and large dining hall/kitchen building from any bushfire threats
System Type:
- Impact Sprinkler System to all 3 rear buildings including main office
- Impact and Perimeter Sprinkler System to the dining hall/kitchen building
- A stage 1 project which has coverage of 50% of the buildings, stage 2 which will complete the other 50% which will commence sometime next year.
Background
The organisation The Outdoor Education Group commissioned us to install bushfire prevention system at another one of their locations ‘Camp Wombaroo’ near Bowral in rural NSW.
The OEG group is an organisation providing outdoor education camps for school children ranging from grade 2 through to grade 10. They have various locations around Australia, and this is the 3rd project with them thus far.
‘Camp Wombaroo’ is in High Range, 720 metres above sea level, and is located right next to Nattai National Park in the Southern Highlands.
Bushfire Roof Sprinkler System
The core of a bushfire mitigation strategy is installing a bushfire sprinkler system. The buildings that are part of stage 1:
- Main Office
- Large Dining Hall and Kitchen
- 3rd building
These buildings were deemed the most important in order of priority. The final stage 2 will complete the coverage of help protect Camp Wombaroo from any potential bushfires.
It’s important to choose the right sprinkler system setup for each property.
Here, all 3 of the buildings have been installed with the Impact Sprinklers including the main office. Along with the other 2 buildings, the Perimeter Sprinklers were also installed.
